How does a shared ride differ from a private transfer?

Some shuttle services will provide an option for booking either a shared ride or private shuttle. This article should help you make that decision. A shared ride shuttle will offer varying levels of service depending in large part, the size of the airport you are needing transportation to or from. Generally speaking, when you book a shared ride you are booking a seat on a vehicle and with a private shuttle you are booking the vehicle for your own use.

Shared Ride – a shared shuttle may be a bus or van and you will likely by amongst other passengers. For the larger operations, a shared shuttle will have have designated pick up times and may have established drop off and/or pick up locations. Some shared ride services may have multiple stops at customers homes and deliver to the airport and vice versa. A shared ride service is cheapest in most situations. For a shared ride, you will have to plan for extra time going to or from the airport.

Private Ride – a private transfer is your own private vehicle, offering a faster journey and flexible pick-up times. With a private transfer, you have your own vehicle, the trip is faster and the shuttle company is more flexible, often allowing you to set your own pick up time. A private shuttle is ideal for a family or group that prefer to ride together. Privacy of course comes with a cost. You will undoubtedly pay more for a private shuttle versus shared ride.
