Zephyr Setup

Follow these easy steps to setup your Zephyr
Need more help?

First: Location and Mounting

Pick A Location
Go to the location where you replace your furnace filter.

The filter is located where the air blows in. We want to mount the Zephyr where the air blows out.

We will drill a hole in the ducting where the air blows out of the furnace/AC.

In the winter in cold climates, this is where the warm air blows out of the furnace and into the home.

Warning - Don't Mess With The Exhaust Vent!

If you have a heater, your furnace will likely have an exhaust that goes outside.

We do NOT want to penetrate any duct that vents to the exterior of the home!

This ventilates the harmful fumes from the furnace to the outside.  If you are unsure which duct feeds air to the home and which vents to the outside, stop now and contact a heating professional.

Take a minute to figure out where the exhaust vent is and don’t touch that one!

Send Us A "Furnace Selfie"

If you want, send us a pic of your furnace to support@zephyrfresh.com and we’ll mark up the photo and send it back.

You can move forward with confidence that you are installing your Zephyr properly.

Drill The Hole

Knock on the vent and make sure it sounds empty! We don’t want to drill into any part of the furnace, just the empty duct.

Using the 7/16″ drill bit included in the kit, drill a hole in the ducting.

If your drill has a higher speed setting use it.

Apply a little pressure to keep the bit from moving.

Insert The Grommet

Insert the grommet into the hole we just drilled.

Connect The Vent Tube

Push the vent tube into the vent tube coupler, and manually screw it to the top of the diffuser.

Mount The Diffuser

You can mount the Zephyr anywhere you like, just keep in mind it needs to be upright and basically level and you need 9 inches of room above it to replace the Scent Refill Cartridge.

You can leave it sitting on the floor or on a duct, or mount using the screw holes (screws not included) or mounting strip.

Mounting Strip

NOTE:

Do NOT attach the mounting strip to a finished surface, it will cause damage when removed!

Insert Vent Tube

Push about 2 inches of the vent tube into the grommet.

Drill A Hole

Knock on the vent and make sure it sounds empty! We don’t want to drill into any part of the furnace, just the empty duct.

Using the 7/16″ drill bit included in the kit, drill a hole in the duct.

Set your drill to the highest speed if it has that feature.

Mounting Strip

NOTE:

Insert Vent Tube

Push about 2 inches of the vent tube into the grommet.

Then: Install the Scent Refill Cartridge

Open the Diffuser

Push the button on the right side of the diffuser while pulling up on the vent tube.

Install Scent Refill Cartridge

Carefully open the scent refill cartridge, and screw on as shown.

Make sure it’s on nice and tight or it won’t diffuse properly.

Put the diffuser back together by simply pushing it back in.

Plug In the Power

Now just plug it in!

You may need an extension cord.

If you don’t have an outlet close by, keep in mind that the furnace has power running to it and an electrician can install one very easily.

Now Install The App & Setup the Zephyr

Download the app

The Zephyr app is available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Click the link above or search for “Zephyr Fresh”.

Connect to the Wi-Fi

Make sure your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network and that you know the Wi-Fi password.

Note: The Zephyr does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi, so if you’re phone is connected to the 5GHz, please go to the settings on your phone and connect to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (probably the same Wi-Fi name without “5GHz” or “5G” at the end.)

Add your Zephyr

Hit the plus in the upper right to add your Zephyr to the app, and select “Add Device”

Enter your Wi-Fi password

Enter your Wi-Fi password here.

Make sure you are entering the current and valid Wi-Fi password.

Connect to the "Aromalink" Wi-Fi

Now the Zephyr will create a new Wi-Fi network, called “Aromalink_xxxx” and you need to connect your phone to that wi-fi network.

Hit “Jump to Setting” and connect your phone to this Wi-Fi.

The password to the Aromalink network is 12345678

Go back to the AromaSmart app

Go back to the app and let it connect to the device.

Now Let's Configure Your Zephyr

When do you want the Zephyr to run?

Select “Working Time” and you can pick one or two working periods.

For example, you could have it run from 3pm to 9pm on weekdays, and 8am to 9pm on weekends.

We recommend you let it run for at least 3 hours at a time to give the Zephyr time to fill your home.

Note that you can select days at the top, and select more than one day at a time.

Note that times are in 24 hour format and be sure to turn each period “on” using the buttons at the right.

Set the Frequency

Here we set the overall strength of the scent.

The Zephyr will run for a few seconds (Working period), and then sit idle
for a few seconds (Pause). The more it runs, the more scent you will have
in your home.

• The “W” sets how long it will work when it turns on
• The “P” sets how long it will pause when idle.

We recommend leaving “P” at 300 seconds, or 5 minutes. Then for “W”, 90 seconds is a good place to start.

If you don’t smell it, or the smell is too weak, adjust “W” upward from 60. If the smell is too strong, turn it down.

Spray Level

Set the Spray level from A (weakest) to C (strongest) at any time.

This is a great way to adjust on the fly. If you leave it at B right now, you can open your app and boost it up or cut it back at any time.

If you find turning this up or down isn’t changing the smell enough, go back to “Frequency” and adjust the “W” value up for more smell or down for less.
